11th WORLD BLINDNESS SUMMIT
Location: Anhembi District Convention Center, São Paulo
The World Blind Union, with the support of the National Technical-Scientific Committee of Brazil, reaffirms its commitment to the collective and plural construction of knowledge about visual impairment with this public call for poster presentation proposals. This action aligns with the collaborative spirit of the 11th World Visual Impairment Meeting and the principles of the World Blind Union, promoting not only accessibility and inclusion but also epistemic justice and recognition of the global diversity of knowledge.

Submission period: June 25 to August 1, 2025 (until 11:59 p.m. – Brasília time)
Evaluation period: July 2 to August 8, 2025
Publication date of the final list of accepted works whose authors confirmed presence in São Paulo: August 12, 2025
Exhibition period: September 4 and 5, 2025
Submissions will only be accepted electronically by sending the proposal in Word format, according to the template available in this section (Poster Submission Template), to the email poster@mundialdadeficienciavisual.com.br, in 2 versions – one identified and one anonymous.

We recommend submitting your proposals in advance, as they will be evaluated as they are received and according to the volume of submissions. Selected authors will be notified promptly via the email above. Please check your inbox and spam folder.
There will be no funding available to support the participation of authors with approved works. Therefore, only submit your proposal if you can attend in São Paulo with your own resources.

POSTER – Rules and Guidelines

Submissions may present scientific research results, educational projects, or reports of everyday practices related to people with visual impairments, whether associated with other disabilities or not. For works involving human subjects, the ethics committee approval number must be provided. Proposals containing excerpts from other authors must include proper citation.

Scientific works written in Portuguese, English, Spanish, or French will be accepted. The poster content and the description of images, graphs, tables, and diagrams must be included in a QR Code in the same language as the paper.

Proposals will be evaluated by members of the National Technical-Scientific Committee.

After approval, the main author must confirm their participation in the poster exhibition by email, attaching proof of registration payment within 48 hours of receiving the approval email.

During the exhibition, authors are encouraged to be available at some point to clarify questions for the public.

Works must follow the APA Style (American Psychological Association), 7th edition, 2019, according to the information and links below:
Evaluation criteria include Relevance, Clarity/Quality of the proposal and text, Originality/Added Value, Representation of world regions, and proportion of registered participants.

Authors are responsible for preparing their posters, bringing them to the event, and setting them up at the location indicated by the organization. Posters must be removed immediately after the exhibition ends. The exact location of each poster will be indicated by a number published on the presentation list on the Meeting’s website.
